Software can be annoying, especially when it hogs resources or performs in manners we do not condone. This is a reminder of some common replacements.
- Adobe Acrobat (Reader) = FoxIt Reader or Sumatra PDF
- Apple QuickTime = QuickTime Alternative
- Windows Media Player = Media Player Classic (or Media Player Classic – Homecinema)
- RealMedia Player = Real Alternative
If you just want one app that covers pretty much all audio/video (not completely, but close), use VLC.
